The Ancient Japanese Art of Shibori

Saturday, October 1 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Location: Meeting Room A and B

Shibori is the ancient Japanese art of resist dying fabric – one of the more elegant predecessors of modern tie-die. At this workshop, each participant will make unique pieces of Shibori using two of the many methods as well as learning the tips and techniques to do more at home!

The Geek Club is a casual hang-out night for teens who enjoy anything from anime, comics, Doctor Who, video games, crazy YouTube clips and more! Even if you’re curious, stop by and meet some new friends. Snacks always provided and new faces always welcome!

Drop-In Tabletop Gaming for Adults & Teens

Game lovers of all abilities are welcome to try the newest tabletop games, along with classic board games and card games. Drop in and meet up with other like-minded gamers!

Pokemon Go at the Orion Library

Saturday, October 8 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Location: Youth Activity Room

Come catch ‘em all at our three pokestops and battle for the Orion Library gym. Lures will be set back-to-back from 1pm to 4pm and snacks and beverages will be provided.

Teen Makerspace

Saturday, October 8 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Location: Meeting Room A and B

A Makerspace is a DIY space where people can gather to create, invent and learn. The library will host four Makerspace sessions for teens this fall. We will have a variety of electronics, software, crafts and tools for you to tinker with including a button maker, sewing machine, Sphero obstacle course, Cricut cutting machine, Little Bits, 3D doodle pens and much more!

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Tuesday, October 11 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: James Ingram Room

Get volunteer hours and advise the Teen Librarian on what is popular and current with teens! Participants who attend 6/10 meeting throughout the year will have the opportunity to apply for a $500.00 library scholarship that will go towards a college fund.
