Thank you for your patience

As many of you probably know, we had to close the Library on Monday & Tuesday of this week because we did not have any power! The problem was with a DTE transformer, and our power went out just before 9am on Monday morning, 7/22. Partial power was restored by this morning, Wednesday 7/24, and DTE was here and resolved the final issues before 10:30am.

We all know how challenging it can be when the power goes out at home. It is just as challenging to run the library without lights, without computers, and without air conditioning on these summer days. So we appreciate your patience. We apologize for the inconvenience.

In light of being closed, we will give you a couple extra days to pick up any holds that came in during the days we were closed, and all items are being checked in with extra “free days” as well to avoid any incorrect fines. Also, please know we are doing our best to get caught up with checking in the returned items and getting items back on the shelves as quickly as possible. Please do not hesitate to ask a staff member if you need any assistance finding something. We are open for business once again!
