The Orion Township Public Library is excited to announce that we are expanding library services beginning on Monday, March 15, 2021. We will open at 9:30 AM, and patrons are welcome to come into the library again, no appointments required. We will be complying with the latest MDHHS order, limiting to 50% or less of building capacity. Patrons are asked to stay no longer than 45 minutes, just a short visit to pick up what they need and head back out. We are calling this our “Grab & Go” service. Patrons are required to wear masks in the building, respect social distancing, and use the available hand sanitizer frequently. Patrons may view the shelves of books and other materials when they visit, and staff will be available to assist in safe ways as well. Computers and other equipment will also be available.
Appointments will be available for study rooms (individuals only), Makerspace Equipment, and Exam Proctoring only.
As a reminder, current library hours are:
Monday – Thursday: 9:30 AM – 9:00 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Curbside pickup is still available, with slightly shorter hours to allow staff to assist patrons both in the library and curbside. Initially, curbside pickup will be available:
Monday – Thursday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Friday & Saturday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Sunday: NO curbside
Self-checkout will be available inside the library. Returns will be accepted at our indoor book drop in addition to our outdoor book drops. Payments will be accepted by our staff in the lobby (cash, credit cards, and checks accepted for fine and fee payments).
We will be shortening our quarantine period to 3 days for returned items. Meeting rooms are still NOT available. We are still NOT able to accept book donations at this time.
The Orion Center Branch library will also be open a few days each week, staffed and available to patrons to pick up materials or use computers. Initially this location will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10 AM to 3 PM.
