The Orion Library is excited to announce several new services designed to meet your informational and entertainment needs in the safest way possible.
We are excited to announce we have begun offering automatic renewals! Materials that are eligible for a renewal will be automatically renewed at the time that they are due, if there are no holds on the items and the renewal limit has not been met. The renewal limit will still be two per eligible item.
Book Bundles are librarian curated collections of library material on any topic or genre of your choosing, available for all ages in bundles of up to 10 items. Materials available for bundling include books, audiobooks, DVDs, and music CDs.
Bright by Text
We are now offering Bright by Text, a texting service that provides parents and caregivers with children ages 0-8 fun and informative texts about child development. Included are links to games, activities, and information useful for your child’s growing mind. To sign up for the program, simply text FAMILYPLACE to 274448. Also included is weekly information about local community fun and resources.
Chromebooks can be checked out by patrons with a valid library card, check out for 1 week, and are limited to 1 per card with no renewals.
Weather permitting, Curbside Pickup will be available from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 AM through 4:30 PM on Friday and Saturday. Curbside Pickup is not available on Sunday.
The Orion Library offers free test proctoring services in accordance with our Proctoring Examinations Policy. Please contact the Adult Services Department at (248) 693-3001 for more information.
iPads can be checked out by patrons with a valid library card. All iPads are Wi-Fi enabled with access to all the default apps provided by Apple. You can also create an Apple account log in to an existing one to install your own apps. iPads check out for 1 week and are limit to 1 per card with no renewals.
No Contact Home Delivery
No Contact Home Delivery is a temporary service available to anyone uncomfortable leaving their home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ring Me a Story
Are you tired of screens? Do you just want to unplug and hear a good joke or story? If so, contact Youth Services at (248) 693-3002 and we will read you a story or tell you a joke. This will be a fun way for everyone in the family to listen together. You can call any time of day! New stories, jokes, and folk tales every week.
Take and Make
A Take and Make is a program-to-go! We will pack a bag of supplies needed for the program, which you can pick up from the library so you can do the program at home.
Virtual Child and Parent Workshop
We have collected some informative resources and created fun content for you and your children to access throughout this month. Visit here throughout the month to find new information, videos, and interviews with child resource professionals covering some of the most asked about topics from parents.

Our “IT Guy” is available to help you with any of your technology needs via phone, email, or video chat. Eric can troubleshoot issues with your devices, make product and service recommendations, and teach you how to do specific tasks.
