Coming Soon: New Parking Lot

The Orion Township Public Library is dedicated to providing a safe and accessible library experience for all patrons. In accordance with our values, the Orion Township Public Library will be redoing our parking lot to address a known need for the library. After 40 years, the library is due for a new parking lot.

Beyond creating a safer lot to drive on, the project will also allow us to improve the flow of traffic in the lot, as well as add a drive-through book return and hold pick-up window in the future. The library will be funding the new parking lot with reserves that have purposefully been set aside for this need; therefore, money will not be taken away from our services, and the project will not require any additional revenue.

Our dedication to our community is at the forefront of this project, as we plan to make every effort to ensure the library is open and accessible during construction, including during the upcoming election. Clear signage, pathways, and options for curbside pick-up of library materials will allow patrons access throughout the project, where we will aim for minimal library closures. The project is set to start in late September and finish in the spring.
