Mystical, mythical creature was first “sighted” according to newspaper accounts in Lake Orion in 1894. As the story grew, so did the size of the Orion sea serpent! Descriptions varied among residents, who said he was black with a head as large as a calf, no ears were visible, but in their place were jet black horns. It had a slimy, scaly body that ranged in size from thirty to sixty feet in length. Although hunting parties with guns searched for the monster to no avail, it was never captured.
