Synopsis, Regular Meeting, Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Open Meeting/Roll Call: Chairman Zande called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Members Present: Doug Zande, Sandra Dyl, John Steimel, Mark Crane, Dick Christie.  Member Absent: Shannon Filarecki. NOTE: There is currently one vacant position on the Planning Commission since Brad Lare has resigned due to his relocating.

Election: Motion carried that Mark Crane would serve as the Planning Commission representative on the Zoning Board of Appeals (to complete Brad Lare's term until the end of the year).

Commissioner Crane joined the meeting at 7:03 p.m.

Minutes: Motion carried to approve the July 2, 2008 regular meeting minutes as presented.

Agenda Review and Approval: Motion carried to approve the agenda as presented.

Public Comments for Non-Agenda Items: None.

Consent Agenda: Motion carried to approve the Consent Agenda regarding the following case: A)PC-2003-65(2008), Belle Arbor PUD Amendment for Retail Buildings Ground Sign, approved as presented; and, B)Set special Planning Commission meeting for August 27, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of a combined workshop with the Board of Trustees and Zoning Board of Appeals, approved.

New Business: None.

Unfinished Business: A. PC-2008-02, Orion Township Master Plan 5-Year Update: Background Studies. Discussion only, no action was taken.

Public Comments: None.

Communications: Letter from Steve Mazzetti regarding PC-2007-09, Pine View Manor Independent Living Site Plan

Motion carried that the changes to the previously approved site plan are not major enough to require a full review of the site plan as long as the changes are limited to what was discussed in this letter from Mr. Mazzetti, date stamped received by the Township on July 28, 2008 and that the Planning Commission concurs that this could be handled administratively by the Building Department.
