Ellison Die-Cut Collection
We have dozens of die-cuts that patrons may use for free! To make sure that the machines are available to use, please call the Youth Services Desk at 248-693-3002 before coming in. Bring in your own paper and use as many die-cuts as you like.

Youth Braille Collection
The Youth Braille Collection provides reading materials for the blind and visually impaired.
Youth Discovery Kits
Discovery Kits include: My Emotions, My Body, Getting Dressed, Time, Spatial Relationships, Social Skills, Healthy Habits, Getting Around Town, Opposites, Cause and Effect, and Counting. These all-in-one kits contain 3-5 books, small toys, games and manipulatives pertaining to a concept or life skill. Especially great reinforcement for those visual and tactile learners.

Youth Hi-Lo Collection
Hi Interest / Low Reading Level Books (Hi-Lo Books) encourage reading for the reluctant reader. Books are written at lower reading levels, but appeal to the reader’s interest level even though that might not match their grade level. Students, especially in middle school and high school, who are reading below grade level are more likely to want to read a book if it is not only at their reading level but also at their interest level.
Youth Large Print Collection
The Youth Large Print collection contains books with large, easy to read typefaces to accommodate readers with vision limitations.
Youth Lit Fit Kits
Youth Lit Fit Kits are designed to coordinate with the literacy competencies that are evaluated each year by local schools. Currently available for DK - 1st grade with 2nd and 3rd grade coming in the new year. Each kit has materials to strengthen and practice skills in the stated competency. Current kit topics include: Fluency, Comprehension, Vocabulary, Phonics, and Phonics Awareness. Checkout: 2 Weeks - Limit of 2 per card.
Youth Preschool Kits
Preschool Kits include a variety of topics including Seasonal Holidays, Bugs, Colors, Michigan, Bears, Space, Farm, Pets and many more. Kits include 4-6 books, and a toy or manipulative pertaining to the topic.

Our Youth Quilt Kits contain a story and an accompanying quilt block sewn by local quilters.
Youth STEM Kits
STEM Kits are a great way to investigate science and math concepts with your students or as a family. Our STEM Kit collection includes: Engineering-Gears, Snap Circuits, Dinosaurs, Heart, Magnets, Microscope, Night Sky, Simple Machines, Puzzles and Logic, Build a Contraption, Bridge Building, World of Bugs, Solar Power, Wheels and Axles, and Measuring. Kits include at least one book and relevant hands-on learning material on the specific topic.

Youth Story Kits
Story Kits are a wonderful way to tell a favorite tale. Our Story Kit collection includes: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, If you Give a Pig a Pancake, If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, There Was an Old Lady, Silly Sally, Three Billy Goats Gruff, Three Bears, Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, I Went Walking, Panda Bear, Panda Bear, and many more. Kits include a copy of the story and some materials to retell the story. This is a great way to get kids involved in telling the story.

Designed for middle school libraries, Middle Search Plus is a full-text database providing popular middle school magazines and reference books. OverDrive / Libby for Kids, or Kids' eReading Room, shows only kids’ content. No adult content will appear in the search results. All titles in the eReading Room are also cataloged by reading level, AT scores, and other reading metrics to help parents and teachers select titles to aid in literacy campaigns. All titles can be sampled in OverDrive Read prior to borrowing or placing a hold.

PebbleGo Next
PebbleGo Next is the next step for researchers ready to graduate from PebbleGo to more robust content.
